Straw ammoniation process

　　Choose a location for the pond that is higher in elevation, convenient for storage, and easy to manage. The size of the pond can be determined according to needs. The ammoniation pond for this project is semi-underground, made of brick and concrete. Urea ammoniation agent is used. The urea is prepared into a solution according to requirements and sprayed onto the straw in several batches, mixing evenly. The pond is filled while compacting the material. After filling, cover and seal with a thin film, and then press down with a weight.

　　Quality identification of ammoniated feed: Before feeding ammoniated straw to livestock, quality identification should be performed. Generally speaking, the color of ammoniated straw should be apricot yellow (ammoniated corn straw is brown), the texture should be softer, and after releasing excess ammonia, the smell should be fragrant. If the ammoniated straw turns white or gray, becomes sticky or lumpy, it indicates that the straw has become moldy and cannot be fed to livestock. If the color of the ammoniated straw is basically the same as before ammoniation, although it can be fed, it indicates that the ammoniation was not successful.
